Speaker 1:

I am saying there is power in the corporate gatherings and it actually does raise morale within the body of Christ, because you see, oh wow, I'm not the only person in this entire world that believes in God.

Speaker 2:

There's this massive body, massive amount of people who? Believe this because the world makes it look like you're an island. Yeah, and we are in the minority, but it doesn't feel like such a minority. When you're all gathered, you see that even though it's minority, there's a great amount of people.

Speaker 1:

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of the open waters podcast.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited to be back here again and we don't have our get a recording this week. We don't.

Speaker 1:

We have our gear back. It is the 33rd episode 33 episodes in two open waters podcast, that's cool. It's pretty cool to be here.

Speaker 2:

That's crazy yeah.

Speaker 1:

I almost want to go back and listen to like the first or second episode to see what it sounds like back then.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I wasn't that bad. We were recording video then and I want to get back to that, but not today, because video is hard because it's just it's you got to make sure the lighting's right.

Speaker 1:

I've done a little bit of stuff with this and I'm not even a camera person like I just put my phone down and start recording, but we'll have to get back to it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we'll get there at some point.

Speaker 1:

I think it makes it better, but it's true, yeah.

Speaker 2:

so how are you doing? How was your Thanksgiving?

Speaker 1:

That was great. It was with you guys. So how was it?

Speaker 2:

Well, you were there, so wow.

Speaker 1:

There were some people I've never seen before.

Speaker 2:

I know we had our neighbors over and it was good. The only problem I had was I was starting to come down with a sickness that it's been a week and I am still still kind of working, wrestling with a few symptoms.

Speaker 1:

But praise god, I'm on the other side 60% or 70%, 80.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I would say 85. Nice yeah, totally Sweet.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, cool. So if you didn't know this, guys, we actually do if you. If you're sick of listening to this on Spotify or Apple, we do release on YouTube now every week, when we do not every week, every other week when the episodes do come out, so feel free to watch it on there as well, or other than Spotify or Apple.

Speaker 2:

So yay, yeah, and then, if you have any questions, you can always contact us at openwater Openwaterworshipcom.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

Don't ask, people don't ask.

Speaker 1:

Mistakes are made. That's all I can say, and then just a few housekeeping.

Speaker 2:

For those of you who are regulars, we do live stream. When we do get together and do open waters worship, we love to have you come out. It's for all ages. You can invite friends and family. If you want the address, you can always just direct message us on open waters worship Instagram or again, our email, and also we are not going to be meeting on December 23rd for obvious reasons.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

It's so close to the holiday, but we will be meeting then. The next time will be on the 13th of January. So the 9th of December is our next one, that's this coming Saturday, and then the 13th of January will be our first one in January.

Speaker 1:

The bye, bye 2023, and then the hello 2024 open waters. It's crazy, huh.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, so it's going to be awesome.

Speaker 1:

So one more housekeeping item, though hopefully you guys haven't gotten sick of this already, but we do have a young adults group happening every second of the month. Yeah, and it is going to be for ages. I'm not going to put an age on it.

Speaker 2:

Second Tuesday of the month.

Speaker 1:

Second Tuesday of the month I say Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Yes, you didn't say a day.

Speaker 1:

No second Tuesday of every month, and it is going to be in the evenings, meaning later than five o'clock. Some of us do have nine to fives, unfortunately, and so we do have, thankfully, thankfully, actually, you know what? Thank god for my job, amen, anyway, yeah, so if you are within the ages of still being a young adult, let's do it, let's do it. Let's do it so, okay what? I think that's good enough for the more about us. I think we did everything, no.

Speaker 2:

How was your Thanksgiving? Okay, no, this I have it already.

Speaker 1:

Okay, what is it?

Speaker 2:

Christmas tree, do you like multicolored, like all the colors of the rainbow?

Speaker 1:

or do you like light colored?

Speaker 2:

We didn't did we?

Speaker 1:

I'm not sure.

Speaker 2:

Oh no. But, okay, then here's this. I know we didn't do this, okay, star, at the top of the tree lit up nothing at the top of the tree, oh you have to have a star. Like lit up.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't matter if it's lit up, but it has to have a star.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I say either way, on one of my trees I've got a, an angel made by my grandma, and I have the on the other one, a lit up.

Speaker 1:

No, it's a star snowflake thingy.

Speaker 2:

He's no fake. There you go. There's your more about us. Yeah, weren't you glad you awesome? Aren't you glad you waited for?

Speaker 1:

that we did all. That's it, guys. Thank you for. Alright so today the topic is the kingdom is at hand and it's awesome and I we did a Few episodes ago I mean not even a few, it's been like quite a few episodes ago. We did some episodes on revival and it's even becoming more prevelant now. I think, as the world gets darker, the light has no option but to shine even brighter.

Speaker 1:

That's right and so even all the darkness combined in the world can't put out the single flame of a candle. So that's why we're saying the kingdom is at hand, because I think the world has gotten dark and it's shining really bright right now because there is those little places of light around the world that are just shining 100% and so it's really pretty incredible because, yeah, it can get really easy to get caught up in the dark things that are happening in the world.

Speaker 2:

And especially, I think a lot of musicians and worshipers are feelers, meaning they experience in all of their Body, their mind, their spirits what's happening around them. They sense and discern. Some of people don't even realize that's what's happening, like they may be sad or happy or Whatever the case may be when they're feeling what's in the atmosphere, and worship leaders tend to be that. So, especially for those who are worships, who are Feelers, it's hard right now because you're sensing the chaos and the, whatever it is in the atmosphere, the hopelessness, the, the godlessness, the spiritual warfare that's happening on top of. We live in an era where we have immediate access to information, which is not bad.

Speaker 2:

It's just that we have access to the bad things too, and there are a lot of people who want that in your face, and so and and it's good to have your head in the sand about things and of course, we want to intercede and pray as the body and to advance this kingdom you but we can get so focused on the negative that we can miss the beauty that is happening in the world right now in regards to revival.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so I just want to like take a quick second to say you know, there's a couple of things that I'm just really like before we get into like the meat and potatoes about what we're going to talk about here, there's a couple of really awesome events that have happened around the world that are actually really inspiring and awesome to take a look at. But the first thing I want to say is that I really hope and pray for the US or places within the US doesn't matter to have big corporate gatherings. Corporate gatherings with multiple bodies of the church Doesn't matter about denomination, doesn't matter about any skin color or whatever, doesn't matter about political party. It just matters about coming under one. It doesn't even have to be a roof. Most likely, I want there to be a point where there's just no roof large enough for it.

Speaker 1:

Right, I want there to be like crusades back in when you know the.

Speaker 2:

Billy Graham was around here. Billy Graham, right? Yeah, well, brian Hart Bunky was overseas mostly, yeah.

Speaker 1:

But like why I'm just so mad that we haven't had like those big corporate gatherings like that in a while, like you don't see those anymore. Like even like the Jesus culture, the Bethel and Jesus image those are pretty big, but like those amount, like those are inside, like it's not about the how many people I'm not saying that at all, but I am saying there is power in the corporate gatherings and it actually does raise morale within the body of Christ, because you see, oh wow, I'm not the only person in this entire world that believes in God. There's this massive body.

Speaker 2:

Massive amount of people who believe this because the world makes it look like you're in islands. Like we, and we are in the minority, but it doesn't feel like such a minority when you're all gathered. You see that even though it's minority, there's a great amount of people and I think I think it is really important and I don't think it's about numbers, right, We've talked about that before. However, there is such a beauty of that and encouragement that comes and it's almost like you see all these people around the world who are gathering and these events, and they're coming in droves and it's like where is the hunger here?

Speaker 2:

Where is that happening here? Where is the organization of those kinds of events here? What is it that keeps us from?

Speaker 1:

Just a quick study and like this is this is like because we were talking about it does seem like we're in an island and we're definitely not, according to a study done in 2010 by the Pew Research Center.

Speaker 2:

Not how sure how credible they are, they are, they're very.

Speaker 1:

And it's there are. 31.5% of the world is Christian, and so we're pretty. That's almost a third of the world believes in God.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Not going to get any more into depth on how much they believe, because that's for God to decide.

Speaker 2:

That's God knows. The only God is inside the heart of a man.

Speaker 1:

But 30% and but we don't feel like that. A lot of the time and this is where the kingdom is at hand type of deal happens.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Because there are our events that do show that you know the Lord truly is moving and activating different parts of the body, and do you want to talk about one of them? Gracie wants to talk about it, she does, she wants to yeah.

Speaker 2:

I absolutely do, so one of them. Is this really cool? You're talking about the Gaza thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the one in Gaza is going to be super cool, so, cool so what I love about this is we had I know we're not the only ones, but we are part of a beautiful worship community called Utah House of Prayer and it is built on the foundations of International House of Prayer, which, despite what's happening there because there are some things that are happening there but that whole setup was a God breath and organized and it combines worship and intercession.

Speaker 1:

We follow this harp and bull concept that they instituted and brought about. Whether they're actively walking in it or not doesn't matter, but they have created something that is God breath. And so we are operating in that God breathed item.

Speaker 2:

So we get the opportunity to be a part of that. At least I do once a month, and so the last time we got together, we were really, as we do every week, pushing into just praying for Israel and, of course, praying for the things that are happening there right now with the war, and praying for all of the victims in this and praying for the hearts of the Hamas, because they are this. We were talking about this before we started recording. They are this group of people that are born of Ishmael that come in, have come in with a spirit of, basically, rejection and abandonment, because Abraham, you know, abandoned them. God took care of them. But there's a generational pattern of this and so we were really which then causes when you feel abandoned and unwanted.

Speaker 2:

It leads to a lot of behaviors that are not good. And then you attach that with years and years of learned behaviors, of violence and other things like that, and so you have a people that were just crying out to God. Heal their wounds. God, show them who you are, God, take away this violence and let them know they're adopted, singing over them. They're adopted, they're wanted, they're seen, they're known. Cause that's core need. They're not just violent because they're terrible people.

Speaker 1:

There's a reason why. Yeah, a lot of people. I just want to take a quick second. There are a lot of people, just they don't lash out because they're just bad people. I truly believe that there is something in every person that is quote unquote bad. There is something that has been missing in their life, whether that is family members or even just like the main one God, and they're searching for something that can't be met any other way.

Speaker 2:

Yes, agreed, and so, anyway, we came across this story and you may have heard about it already, but we're just rejoicing because it was-.

Speaker 1:

You prayed about it. It was super awesome to be a part of this.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's so cool and so it came out on a bunch of different sources. This is charisma news, talking about how more than 200 men have reported seeing Jesus or seeing God come to them and the Hamas like crying out, and they've had experiences where they've met Jesus and it's completely transformed them and they are turning to Jesus and they're recognizing he is the one true God.

Speaker 2:

And this is incredible. This is incredible because you know and I both know, and those of you who are out there, especially if you're worshipers you know that there's nothing like meeting Jesus. When you're in his presence, you feel his love for you, you feel so seen, so known, and yet you feel there's like this repentance and this realization of who you are. We've talked about that before. That comes over them and from all reports that's what they're experiencing and that is just amazing. Right Revival is happening. His kingdom is definitely hitting that area.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I just wanna take a second, because imagine yourself back when you first got in relationship with God, and imagine these people who have gone through pretty much generations and generations of fatherlessness, literally being abandoned by Abraham up to this generation, and that now God is revealing that himself to them and allowing them to be like yeah, you're seeing, yeah, you guys have a father that came down, died for you guys as well not just the people that you guys are currently at war with, but even these people need prayer too, and even these people need Jesus, as God is revealing himself to them, which is awesome, and so these people that have had these generations of fatherlessness now get to feel that having a father, and it's awesome to see it happen, so it's cool to have prayed for it, and now to come true.

Speaker 1:

So, very much a miracle.

Speaker 2:

So there's some other things happening. Can we talk about the other ones too, or do you wanna talk about yours?

Speaker 1:

right now. Come, which one is yours?

Speaker 2:

The other one that I was going to talk about happens to be Greg Laurie. So we talked about a while back and just the Jesus revolution movie and stuff and Greg Laurie of course is attached to that, and so a lot of people don't realize that some of perhaps the largest baptisms in history has taken place. That happened in July. About 4,500 people were publicly committed their lives to Jesus and they were baptized. Before that, 4,100 people were baptized and so we're seeing these baptisms in it's in that same cove. That's in the movie possibly the largest baptism ever happening right now.

Speaker 1:

Hey there, sorry for the interruption. Just wanted to say, if you haven't already rate and reviewed this podcast, it would mean the absolute world to us If you could rate and review and share this with somebody you know. That way we can get the word out and we can help other people dive deeper into God's open waters. Now let's get back to the podcast.

Speaker 2:

So you know and I think it's really interesting I was thinking about this as we were going to talk about this. We've been praying and believing what the Bible says about in the last days, like it will be like Noah, but then there's also going to be this great revival, right, and we've been praying into that and we've been asking for it. But I think, like everything else, maybe we thought it would be so in our face everywhere, but I think it's perhaps more subtle than we realize and that could be just because of what we talked about there's. I think the enemy doesn't want that because when we see it right, what does it do?

Speaker 2:

It encourages us and it gives us hope even just seeing that, let alone if we're all gathered together when you talk about in Revelation that he's going to come like a thief in the night.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, not saying that he's like he's here yet but I'm not sure yeah but you also. This might be something that goes along with that. It's just like his arrival is coming, like it's coming like this, and then the horns are going to blow and everybody's like I think of it.

Speaker 2:

I know, yeah, right he's here, I think of it like a tide. You know, open water, open waters, worship. I think of it like a tide.

Speaker 2:

When the tide comes in, it's like ever so slowly and it's coming up, and it's coming up, and it's coming up and the waves get larger and larger and larger and there's some seasons too where the tide like if you go to Hawaii, for instance, on North Shore, where they do a lot of competitions there are times when, like I went there and I was thinking, wow, these waves aren't that big. This is where I see on TV where they have all these big surfing competitions with these huge waves. Well, because I wasn't there in the season where the waves are the largest, which I think it's winter, in the winter season, in the revival season, those waves are even bigger. Anyway, but they're not destructive tsunami waves, they're just big waves that come in and refresh and cleanse, because that's what the ocean does.

Speaker 1:

I've also heard in keeping on with the metaphor of like a wave. I've heard that the size of the wave is in direct reflection how big it is when the water goes out, and then the wave. You can determine how large the wave is going to be by how far the water comes out.

Speaker 2:

How much water is taken back?

Speaker 1:

Yes, and I think when it gets really dark, like it is now, you can see, like for the US we prayed last night for the US at UHOP how it's getting really dark. There's like almost seems like there's no good people left in government you know what I'm saying and there almost seems like, oh, there's this whole global agenda that is unstoppable. But you know how far is the water gone out? At this point? There has to be this coming back. It's like a pendulum. There's always a battle between light and dark Darkness can never overtake the light.

Speaker 1:

And so it's coming back. It's going to be a large wave and it's going to be awesome. And so the kingdom is at hand like you said yeah. And so with this next story, we're going to play a little like a little audio for you guys, because we don't got video yet, but it's going to talk about just this massive move of God in Nicaragua, literally, and like almost a million people attended this meeting and are like getting saved, like choosing Jesus, and it's awesome.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, it's so cool.

Speaker 1:

It is pretty cool. I'll just read you a little bit of this. It says um, recently we've heard about the moving of God in college campuses, but there's this entire country moving towards God. It's incredible, Kind of skipping down. The government indicated that this is one of them. This the government indicated that the most recent ones of these meetings that they've been having in Nicaragua have been some of the largest gatherings of people in the country's history, which is wild, Imagine.

Speaker 1:

Just like having like the biggest crazy like it doesn't have to be for like a band, it doesn't have to be for anybody like famous. It's just because, well, other than Jesus being famous, it's it's for Jesus, yeah, and so that's super awesome. And this is why I'm saying we need to have a crusades, because seeing these things, I think a lot of the times gets hidden or it almost feels irrelevant because it's not in our country. But seeing it nonetheless is encouraging, because it's like, oh, just just because they don't maybe speak our language or maybe they don't, you know, sing the songs we do doesn't mean they're much, any less Christian than we are, yeah, and so for me it's just as encouraging to see this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, got anything to say.

Speaker 2:

When are you playing the clip?

Speaker 1:

We'll play here in a second, but okay, are you playing it now?

Speaker 2:

Okay?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, yeah, what are you gonna? What are you saying?

Speaker 2:

No, I was just gonna say that what's really cool what I think about this, too is that I just want to encourage people is, if you and I don't know if this is what's gonna be played in the clip or not, but the people who are the ones that God is using to facilitate this revival, they're not like big names.

Speaker 2:

They look like you and me, mm-hmm. They're not these super refined people, they're just hearts that are saying your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, with God echoing the prayer of the father on the earth. And they're saying here am I Son to be, that's all. If you look at them and they're very humble and they just answered the call to, to go into do, and I just want to encourage people that that's all it takes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah is just Just partnering with what God is saying his kingdom come, his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And here am I send me, and it doesn't have to be this big, elaborate, super creative drum depth kind of thing, it's just Going where he's saying and doing what he's saying to see his kingdom come, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Go ahead and listen to this clip From what is happening in Nicaragua. Wow, super awesome, isn't? It just isn't amazing to have that, that stuff, happening in just around the world. Yes, and you were saying before we got.

Speaker 1:

I mean where we got on your heart about this no, I, just I, because I was talking to somebody, a family member of mine about how the church is moving right now and me and him kind of. You know we're talking back and forth. Amazing guy actually, he's Awesome and he's grown a lot since we've last seen him actually, which is Very, very awesome, super cool. Um, but we talked about how slow the church moves and how why do these church? He talked about like funding and all that stuff and I'm like I can actually see where he's coming from because he doesn't actively go to church, but he believes in the Bible and God, obviously, and we believe that people should go to church because it can get kind of wacky, but disclaimer, but he he did bring out a couple good points and that's like Okay, these churches are making mega millions and billions of dollars some of them, and it's like what are we doing with that money?

Speaker 1:

And so are they paying their pastors like an extreme salary. Are we actually using it to get the word out there? Because there is a lot of money in the church I think I forget the actual number, but the, the Mormon church, which has less believers than the Christian church, makes somewhere around, I believe. Last time I saw it it was like two, two. This is the wrong number. I was gonna say two billion, but that's incorrect.

Speaker 2:

Listen, you don't have to yeah, it's a lot, because it's a lot.

Speaker 1:

And you can see their temples that they're building the temples.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because they gotta have tax rights. Anyway, sorry, but it's, it's. We're moving so slow when these people have no elaborate like plan. I mean, well, they have. They probably have some sort of plan of action, but they don't have like these super put together projects but they don't have like these super put together places. They're not like going and Building these stadiums and stuff out there then having their events there. They're not having these super famous bands go out there then having the gospel preached after them. No, it's just they're going out there, like you said, yeah, they're saying yes, oh, god call this, so we're gonna just go and if, when it comes together, it comes together, it doesn't matter. I'm not the one put it, pulling it together, it's god.

Speaker 1:

Yeah and he's the one that's gonna get glorified. That's right, and so the but anyway, all that to say, okay, we just, we feel like the church, has so much that we can do, but we're not using, using our tools that have been given to us. Um, I believe like now is the time for action. That's why the kingdom is at hand is the title of this today. And because there's so much revival happening and it just requires us to just say, okay, lord, what do you want from?

Speaker 2:

us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then, whatever the king says, you don't question it, because when you start questioning, that's when anxiety and fear come to slip in. It's like the little when you put a wedge in the door to stop it. It's like okay when you say, but is that really you lord? You're putting a wedge into what the lord's trying to do and he's not allowing movement.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I, I do believe there is. There is wisdom in taking counsel, obviously, but I think when the lord tells you to do something, it's better to act than to allow fear. And to allow Maybe just like questions of how are we gonna fund this or how are we gonna actually get this many people in here? Is this gonna work?

Speaker 1:

or people actually gonna accept Jesus. Right, let's just move forward with it. If this is truly of god, it then he's gonna provide everything we need. And so, yeah, the kingdom is at hand. It's time for us to start actually moving forward with the kingdom and tati, the kingdom, um, moving and shaking things with the kingdom of god, and it's not just me saying that's like we, we literally are on this earth to do that. Um, yeah, amen. And so.

Speaker 2:

I second that 100%. Yeah, I think our big hope for today, while we're talking about this, is to bring hope to open. If you didn't know about this, to open your eyes to it. If you do know about it, just to have conversation about it and to talk about it and to further bring it into the light.

Speaker 2:

and to encourage you, um, and encourage ourselves, um, to stir up the gifts within us, to to hope for this, pray for this, pray for this, believe for this and move forward in this here, wherever you're at. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I would second that as well. And I'm going to say this as well Um, it doesn't matter how significant you feel, because you know Jesus was a baby in a manger, somebody that seemingly was insignificant yet King Herod tried to kill all the babies. And because he saw the significance in some people, um, using the enemy's devices. We'll see the significance in these events that are happening, see the significance in the little revivals that are happening around there. Could try to censor it, but they can't.

Speaker 2:

That's right.

Speaker 1:

Like we said, the the darkness can't escape the light, and so it's. It doesn't matter how insignificant you feel, cause you know God can use the littlest of people to do the biggest of changes, and so it only takes one little pebble to start a a tsunami, or it only takes one rock to start an avalanche, and so it's it's. It's just time to start moving.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, I'm just going to say this Gideon Moses you know all these people who were David. He was a little guy and he wasn't perfect, I mean he wasn't a little in stature, but you know what I'm saying, young. And so it does. It's not about you. We talked about that before.

Speaker 1:

It's not about us once, and that's that's when we last week, we talked about being consecrated in the week before that about being a living sacrifice. And now, today, the kingdom is at hand and it's time for us to be a consecrated sacrifice and be used, and so once we get past this oh, it's about me, it's not the kingdom God can move forward.
